Prince of Peace, Savior of the World

Tonight on Christmas Eve I am sitting here thinking how good it is to remember why we are celebrating tomorrow.
Jesus is the reason. No amount of holiday greetings or signs or ads can hide the real
reason, Jesus' birth. No amount of gifts, food and company can offset why it is we are really here
and calling it Christmas.  It is not happy holidays, it is  happy Christmas. If we allow those who do not know our Lord to get away with making it a "holiday" then we are not spreading the word of the salvation that Jesus life and death and resurection offers us.

Our Creche:

Next is a bronze of Jesus:

This bronze is very old and not seasonal, it stays on the front console table in our entry all year long.
A very old print entitled: Prince of Peace which is on the wall above the console and also a year around
presence in our home.

And next from the store shown above the 1850 mantle that I rescued from Virginia, is an old oil of Jesus and Joseph. It is not perfect but very beautiful.
Our decoration this year was not much compared to previous years.  We have only a small tree and did not get to put up the larger one that we usually use. The small one is old and from our first Christmas together.
It is good for us. This year we have worked so hard at the store that we have sacrificed our time off.  Next year this is not going to happen. I have decided to make a change there.

Tonight as we move toward the day we celebrate Jesus' birth, I would like very much to wish you each and every one a HAPPY CHRISTMAS.
A special hello to my new friend Bea. Joyeaux Noel.
