Happy September!!!!

While we had a few days of Fall last week, it is gone again.    No rain yet.
September is a month when I automatically re-evaluate my life. Not really, but
subconsciously I guess I do it.

I remember the Fall season as a small child, when cousins and I would
run and jump into the piles of leaves our parents had spent hours raking only a
short time before that.  They never yelled at us over it so it continued each
Fall.  Until we were too old to be so childish.

Those same days we would "borrow" one of my Mother's old quilts and
play roll the person in the quilt game.  Each one had to take a turn being rolled
into the quilt then rolled across the lawn in it.  It was fun for hours at a time.
Again, no trouble with the mothers over it.

Then we would traipse off into the woods and gather leaves and make garlands
or necklaces of them with twigs to hold them together.  The girl cousins and
my sister and I always enjoyed this little past time.  We pretended to be princesses
of the forest and ate mulberries and other berries.  I heard a few years ago how they
were harmful to you to eat mulberries but they never hurt any of us.

When we returned home the mothers would have worn out their visiting and they were
ready to take the cousins home or time for a big meal which we all looked forward to.
At the end of the day we were worn out and went to bed easily.
I have shown several china items in the store with a fall theme as I wrote down these
memories of older times in my life.Happy FALL Ya'll.
