What does Autumn mean?

As the weather changes, so do many of the things we take for granted in life.

School is back in session:

Colors of nature and apparel and decor changes:

Clothing changes:  Remember that old thing " can't wear white after Labor Day?"
(Leopard coat from 1960) White go go boots from same period.

Colors we decorate with change from pastels to oranges and rusts and reds to match the turning leaves.

Remember mother-daughter dresses?

Many of our bulbs and plants are put to bed for the coming winter:
(Scene from Antique Rose Emporium near Brenham)

The antique shows come again to take our time and money.
But they are surely great fun.
(shown here a booth of Theresa Cano at Warrenton's Zapp hall)

And below some other booths

Below from my store, a lovely transferware also in brown..

A booth for Parkhill at the Dallas Market, also just going on.  We love to go twice a year with dear friends Diana and Garry.

There are the colors of the leaves which always brings on Autumn, maybe more so in other areas of the country than here in east Texas but we can still appreciate the colors changing if we drive into the nearby forest.  We deorate with pumpkins and scarecrows.  But before Halloween and Harvest and
Thanksgiving we have this still time of the year when Autumn begins and takes away some of the heat.  For that we are very grateful.
Goodbye for now,
Lois
